Book Review: Sexist Vampire Alive by Kerrelyn Sparks

Before review be sure to apply head to table.

Okay so I am not really going to try here. At one point these books were good. What I can't figure out is if I got better taste of it they got a thousand times worse.

Why does every guy have to have some deep rooted but heavily hidden emotional issue? Are we to believe that you have to have some kind of extreme insecurity to be in a relationship? Is that was most of these romances are going for now? They create all these characters and then make them all fifteen year old girls on the inside.

This one on top of having the crapist cover to date had one of the worst plots. A youtube video makes the president have to learn that vampires are real. And then on top of that the president has a daughter who is a scientist trying to cure her mother.

I kept smacking my head because I know for a fact that as a scientist you never get to test anything you try out on humans for like ten to twenty years. So the fact that they are "racing" to save the mom is too much for me to handle.

I just don't know any more. I was bored by the sex. Do you hear me! BORED!

I can't believe I paid to read this.

The end with the vampire saves the mom by giving her a a blood transfusion so all the stupid stuff in China was pretty much completely pointless.

Tv Review: Are you there Chelsea?

I stopped watching after ten minutes. I only made it that long because I was hoping it would get better after they left the jail.

It didn't.

Don't watch it.

I has Fury!

No Kresley Cole! NO!

I am so mad at you right now you have no idea. In Regin's book you made it seem like Lothaire was going to get with Nix. It was perfect!!! The two of them are the pawn masters for both sides of the conflicts. They are the two characters driving the plot the most.

And then all of a sudden Lothaire likes some mortal chick. Like the guy named The Enemy of Old is really going to fall for one lady that is not a complete badass or nuts. I am not happy about this. The guy has proven to be nothing short of ruthless and completely out of his mind. And you are giving him a touching love story?

At least with Nix there would be something interesting going on between him and the love interest other than "I must not because I have obligations and revenge and stuff to do. And clearly banging you on a regular basis will take away from the genocide I have been planning."

I have not been this pissed of since the creators of Avatar the Last Airbender said that under no circumstance would Katara end up with Zuko. Why not? They make a much more dynamic team. Aang is a child that has no real depth other than his need to save everyone and bring peace. Katara and Zuko at least had this weird sort of animal attraction thing going on and it would have been a great way to bring in a new era of the Fire Nation.

Do you see what you have done? I am now ranting about a cartoon show that was aimed at 12 year olds over a slip that happened between the fans and the creators. Do you understand the rage and the fury that you have unleashed because you took the easy way out?

And yes I understand that putting Nix with Lothaire would end the series effectively because that bitch is pretty much running everything at this point. But really the only stories I care about at this point have happened. I mean I don't know if I am going to keep buying any of the books any more because you gave me the two I had been dying for last year.

For the love of god get on with it already. When are we going to see the epic battles between the fractions that have been promised since book one? Huh? I mean I know this is a romance series but seriously don't create a series with a premise around the idea that in the next few years every fraction of mythical creatures is about to go into a free for all battle and not do anything with that.

That is all for now.

Tv Review: Jane by Design

Not Confident Body Language
There have only been two episodes of this show so far which means there really is not a whole lot to say. Except for the fact that in the second episode they did something I love.

Confidence in attractive people. They have done studies to prove this. It is one of the reasons that guys in stable happy relationships are better at their jobs. It is the reason that even though a girl can be only mildly pretty all the men still want her. We are drawn to the confident people.

Something that makes my eyes twitch are these endless streams of books and movies and televisions shows where the shy, timid person with low self esteem gets the men. (cough twilight cough) That is not how it works in the real world.

I have a good friend that is always self conscious and worried she looks bad. I on the other hand always think I look cute. Who do you think gets the better boyfriends and jobs?

Confident and now with a date.
Getting back to the point. This show has some stupid ideas and some huge cliches. But it did something right on the second episode. The hot, rich, jock starts noticing Jane after she lands her dream job. They make a whole scene of her telling the best friend that she is so happy and all she thinks about is work and how excited she is about all of it.

All of a sudden the guy is into her. She even asks why and she says she is different now. She is! She is happy and confident.

The majority of the show is really low ABC Family nonsense. (I will believe that is fashion when I see it in a magazine.) But this one aspect made me happy. It has all the crappy pit falls of these kinds of shows that almost drowned out this one perfect moment.

I am not saying you should watch it. Unless like me you are currently twiddling your thumbs until students get back from break.
